Maskulinity
A visual dialogue with patriarchy
Maskulinity is a series presented for the first time in Berlin, at Prachtsaal Studio, during 48h Neukölln 2026. The three paintings presented in the collective exhibition involve masks that reference codified forms of a patriarchal idea of masculinity, power and authority.

Good Boy questions the identity of power and order, by replacing a social mask with a cartoon-like shape. The painting is inspired by the artistic work of Philip Guston.
In The Healing and Unveiled (in honour of Blue Demon, the undisputed icon of Lucha Libre wrestling, who never revealed his real identity) the masks are differently pierced and transformed by a wild nature that takes space altering shapes. In this transition into an entropic state, decomposition and death constitute an inevitable part.
Organic forms inspired by fungi, plants and musk behave as a unique organism that grows and while growing transform and heals. There is a sort of forgiveness and compassion in nature’s brutal entropy.
The work honours a transformative state: nature reclaims the space that patriarchal power once built to defend and justify itself. Spectacular fiction and real institution are both worn over a true face that remains hidden, that no longer exists, whose identity is reclaimed and set free by plants, moss, and fungi. In that yielding, a possibility of liberation opens up for the self, and for masculinity itself. The process is captured mid-unfolding: the structure is still recognisable, yet has already begun to surrender to entropy.
